Buddha's Temple Crassula (Crassula 'Buddha's Temple')
Crassula 'Buddha's Temple'
A legendary hybrid created in 1959 by Myron Kimnach, crossing Crassula pyramidalis with Crassula perfoliata var. minor. It forms striking, square columnar columns of densely imbricated, upward-curving silvery-green leaves that resemble a Buddhist pagoda. This slow-growing sculptural masterpiece produces tight terminal clusters of fragrant, pinkish-white blossoms.
📋 Core Botanical Care Parameters
Bright, indirect sunlight or gentle morning sun; requires high light levels to maintain tight leaf spacing, but needs protection from intense summer afternoon sun.
Strict soak-and-dry regimen; bottom watering is recommended to avoid trapped water between tightly stacked leaves, with near-complete dryness maintained during winter dormancy.
70% Gritty Mineral Components (Pumice, Lava Rock, Zeolite) + 30% Low-Organic Succulent Peat
0°C (USDA Zone 10a)
Stem cuttings and basal offsets; individual leaf propagation is exceptionally slow and carries a very high rate of fungal failure.
This plant contains toxic sap/compounds. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs.
